Alec Empire

Eat Your Heart Out, London

Alec Empire has been in the music business for a long time. For a very long time. His first record was released while he was still at school and at the age of fourteen he formed his English-speaking band, Die Kinder (The Children), supporting bands like Die Toten Hosen. Briefly after that, it was time for some serious rebellion shizzle with his last band, Atari Teenage Riot. Still a household name for those who like to crack beats and break synths, they started out as part of Germany's thriving house, techno and rave community, but were far too uncompromising and berserk for a modest dancefloor filled with love, peace and unity. Instead, he created Digital Hardcore Recordings and A.T.R. made fans in such nice camps as Nine Inch Nails and Trent Reznor even cites Alec as an inspiration. In his spare time, he battle-DJed with Q-Bert and Mixmaster Mike, made more remixes than most people had hot dinners and read the press that was calling him a rock god. Now, the story could go on about 20.000 kids in Japan going mad at his live shows or Kerrang awards, but the Empire decided not to stand still, created a new label named Eat Your Heart Out and takes care of the nice dystopia called industrial in different schemes. Even emperor's need new clothes...
