German born Jacob Korn is Granufunk. After almost a decade of sowing musical seeds, he has sprouted his own genetically twisted hybrid of beats. Tracks like 'Big City Lights' throw kora lines and glitches together with Hip Hop beats like polar bears and monstrous bass chords, all topped off with hovering vocals. Granufunk has landed releases on Astrolab, and FOUR music to name a couple of labels, with a unique sound that streams from Broken Beats to the deepest Techno and House to digital Hip Hop and back again. His eponymous LP on Head and Arm is chock full of stylistic twists and turns, super-colliding Hip Hop, Broken Beat, Techno and electronix to create the kind of tracks that even your gran can funk.
