Abe Duque got much of his early musical understanding from his Dad who was a gifted musician and evangelical minister. The '80s were still in full swing when Abe became obsessed with vinyl, discovered DJing, bought his first synthesizer with money from his newspaper route and played keyboard in his Dad's church. In the early '90s Abe became also played keys for the then techno supergroup Program 2. In 1993 he kicked off his own record label Tension, which has become a shining light illuminating the way for new paradigms and possibilities in electronic music, and sometimes for twisted stuff not even Abe understands. Later he co-founded Rapture Records alongside NY buddy John Selway, and most recently Abe started a new label called out of all things Abe Duque Records. And let us not fail to mention the madness that is Rancho Relaxo. Abe is an intensively versatile artist. There seems to be no limit to Abe's musical explorations while always keeping a unique flavor that's remarkably refined and definitely his own. He can be categorized as a producer for producers and a true pioneer. Abe has released his tracks on countless labels such as Tresor, Disko B, Gigolo, Oval, Shk, Cheap, Mille Plateaux, Sonic Groove and Tension just to name a few. He released records under monkers such as Kirlian, Super Secret Symphony, Facil and, of course, Rancho Relaxo Allstars. Abe also worked together with a bunch of other musicians and producers such as Jimi Tenor, Richard Dorfmeister, Blake Baxter, Patrick Pulsinger and DJ Hell among others. As a DJ he has travelled the world, from his long running residency at New York's infamous Limelight to some of the most exotic spots around the globe.
