Ben Mynott has firmly established himself as a mainstay in the downtempo field and has built up a vast following through his work as a producer, DJ and radio presenter. His fluidnation movement was born in 2004 after the split of Fragile State, a production duo founded by Ben two years prior, which garnered plaudits everywhere as champions of lush, organics soundscapes. Residencies at London’s Big Chill Bar and Big Chill House followed; the latter with a monthly fluidnation night. So what of the fluidnation music policy? “Just beautiful music. The aim of the night is to play new music with the emphasis on beautiful arrangements. I firmly believe it’s deep within the tracks' arrangement that brings out the beauty."
