The Trevi fountain has nothing on Academy team member David Nerattini, a.k.a Little Tony Negri. He's a veritable fountain of knowledge about slept-on funk, jazz and rare Italian library records, and is for sure, one of the old Roman capital's greatest assets. Since 2002, David and editorial cohort Silvia Volpato have published Superfly, an on-going investigation into the dusty crates of music's furthest recesses - which despite ending its run on ink and paper, still looms large on the web. His involvement in music goes even deeper: from DJing in the mid eighties on the island of Santorini, to producing beats for Italian hip hop acts such as Colle Der Fomento, Flaminio Maphia, and Assalti Frontali, this Italiano is also lethal on the drums. See his band's website www.jazzguerilla.com for more music, and stay tuned for David's heavy selections. This mix is dedicated to the one and only Ennio Morricone.
