Doing their bit to phatten up the rather minimal rep of the city of Cologne, Adlib, Kut-L and Dem Boogie have been reppin' dope hip hop for time. It started way back, but they first joined forces to produce the world-renowned Superrappin' mixtapes, introducing audiences far and wide to quality independent hip hop. Through his role at Cologne's Groove Attack, Dem Boogie has been instrumental in supporting beatmakers and MCs, recognising J Dilla's 'Ruff Draft' as a finished masterpiece as well as via his own label Hum Drums, with signature releases by the likes of 3582, Oh No and Declaime. DJ Adlib has been scratching like he got stung by a swarm of bees, with award-winning Noisy Stylus crew, while producing beats for various hip hop outfits as well as his very own releases on Alphabet Zoo and Turntable Jazz. Meanwhile Kut-L opened the doors to a new Cologne-based recording studio providing the Kut instead of the chop with delicate sonic surgery for the latest ish from Georgia Anne Muldrow and Ta'Raach. We can safely say, there is no other hip hop crew like this in Germany, so get ready for a selection of new and unreleased tracks that you simply will not hear anywhere else.
