Like most successful ideas, The Hood Internet started out as a fun little idea of a couple of friends. In this case it was Chicago DJs STV SLV and ABX who first played together in an art-pop band called May Or May Not before they started their thehoodinternet.com site in 2007 where they've been cranking out mash-ups like men possessed ever since. Specializing on letting hip hop loose on indie tracks they soon started to gain a following that took them from their hood in the web to the real world, playing shows with folks from all the genres they like to get their fingers on for mixes. Their live shows channel a joyful block party vibe, avoiding many of the nudge nudge, wink wink pitfalls of the mash-up scene. This show catches them live at the Mad Decent Block Party 2011 in New York City.
