Teenage rebel raver Emma Warren had the fortune to witness the dawn of acid house at Rage and Boomshanka. Inspired by the dancefloor, Emma went on to become a founding writer for Jockey Slut, and spent four years at The Face. Now writing for the Observer Music Magazine, Time Out and boutique magazines like Marmalade and Dummy, Emma has also passed a judicial eye over the Mercury Music Prize nominations, as well as creating bespoke productions for Channel 4, 20th Century Fox and 679 Recordings. Emma also heads up youth magazine Live, reinforcing the responsibility to community that many music magazines forget too quickly. Her selection for the RBMA radio will doubtless reveal some of the roots of todays dance music, while giving us the heads up on future classics.
