The 12th edition of Latin America’s biggest festival just ended last Sunday, April 10th, and the Panamerikan staff's feet feel grateful for that. This year, the festival was particularily special, as it raised many memories and shook the alter-latin collective memory. It was a weekend where the spirit of some deceased or ill artists, like Rita Guerrero or Gustavo Cerati respectively, was present with plenty of homages. Also, as it happens at Coachella or Glastonbury, some great bands from the past was miraculously brought back to life: that was the case with Aztec goths Caifanes. Plus, we offer songs from some of the most impressive 'bandas a wachar': the arty new wavers Los Pellejos, the hooliganesque Puerquerama, the jesteresque Bogo, and the funky-some La Hora de la Hora. We get bastardous with a radioactive version of Kraftwerk meets Stan Jones by Spanish surf combo Los Coronas. And on the Japanese semantic field, we present the great Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra; more towards the Arizona and New Mexico fields: Devotcka. Towards the end, we get melancholic. Waiting for the 13th edition of Vive Latino in 2012, for all the magic (and swollen feet) to happen again: the mellow songstress from Baja California, Carla Morrison, plays a Monocordio cover.
