Re bamba bamba. It’s contagious, and feels sweet if you say it with your own mouth. The meaning is chaotic, noisy, but rhythmic. Panamérika’s joy Toy Selectah just released an EP through Mad Decent, and Colombian-English MC, Isa GT, features on the song that opens this rebambarastic show. From the Monterrey-London axis we skip to París-Bogotá, where salsa-muffin Sergent García joins forces with Bomba Estéreo’s Li Saumet. And from the Caribbean we bounce to the Andes with Colombians Bambarabanda. Then it’s time for bastardization, as Panamérika unveils three loony tunes that have dominated Latin YouTube in the last month: the savoury indie of Los Master Plus, cumbia-thrashing a hit by Kings of Leon, the flamenco flematic rumba Facebook saga by La Ogra Que Todo Lo Logra, and a decadent homo-erotic ode to cocaine and ecstasy by Sinaloa’s Galatzia. We have to sober up a little to introduce some Mex indie and Spanish indie from Jessy Bulbo, Neon Walrus, Dorian & Polock (the last of which are featured with an interview from Spain). As a bombastic dessert there’s a remix by discoRUIDO! to the fantastic tune by Monterrey’s Quiero Club. The song is called 'Qué Hacer En Caso De Insomnio' ('What To Do In Case Of Insomnia'). Ba-ba-bounce with this rebambar-ish show by Panamérika!
