Call dem a Foundation sound! After more than 15 years, Silly Walks Movement is one of the most famous reggae and dancehall sound systems from Europe. Founded 1991 in Hamburg, David Meyer (Operator) and Oliver Schrader (Selector) started out organising their own dances with a couple of reggae compilations and Studio One samplers under their arms. The reactions were overwhelming and they - even if they do not like to hear it - were single-handed responsible for the growing reggae culture in Germany. Regular trips to London supplied them with a constant flow of Jamaican 7"s before they finally started cutting dubplates and recording sessions with artists there. Always on the bright and positive side of the Caribbean music culture, Silly Walks is more about roots and culture than the nasty side of the spectrum. Equally likeable as a producer team, Silly Walks has worked with some of the most famous and talented reggae artists of our times like Gentleman, Capleton, Tanya Stephens, Turbulence and many more. Sit back and enjoy their special selection of modern and vintage consciousness tunes for RBMA. Big up, Silly Walks!
