Mentored by the one and only DJ Scott La Rock, D-Nice cut his teeth DJing, beatboxing and doing production work for KRS-One and Boogie Down Productions following La Rock’s untimely death in 1987. After releasing several critically acclaimed hip hop records on Jive in the early 90s, D-Nice virtually ceased putting out albums altogether, focusing instead on photography for music labels such as P. Diddy’s Bad Boy. In recent years, D-Nice has returned to the turntables with an old school, partyrock style, making him an in demand club DJ throughout the US. Listen here as he rocks the Park14 Club in Washington, DC.
