Stephen Mallinder - co-founder of Cabaret Voltaire - takes us back to Sheffield, England, in the early '70s where he and his school pal Richard H. Kirk morphed from terrace-loving soulboys into art-obsessed sound terrorists who used to make crazy tape machine noise to frighten people at bus stops just as KLF would do two decades later. We hear the records that brought Arthur Baker's right hand man, John Robie, in search of The Cabs - and which in turn took them to New York, Chicago and the nightclubs of Manchester.
