To wrap up this cornucopian year, we’ve prepared a series of three shows in which PanamériKa reviews the outstanding works of 2010. For volume 3, we’ll listen to the equatorial beats of 'Bombay' by El Guincho. taken from 'Pop Negro' (our record of the year!), along with our behatred Spaniards, Los Punsetes. In the dancefloor section you’ll find the sophisticated Matías Aguayo collaborating with Discodeine, Pau Y Sus Amigos entered our lists with her strawberry eighties ecstasy pop, and with the ever-partying guys of Dapuntobeat, they represent the Mexico City electronic scene. The song ':0' even made it on the soundtrack of the 'FIFA 11' game. The best of Tijuana comes with a song by Julieta Venegas, remixed with a devonair vintage atmosphere by ex-Red Bull Music Academy students Los Macuanos, while Rey Pila and San Pascualito Rey stand out as some of the best rock music done in Mexico. To end things, we get a little funky and regionally Mexican, with tunes by commanders-in-chief Los Tigres Del Norte and La Original Banda Limón covering rock legends Caifanes. On PanamériKa we love kitsch and bastard music: hence we’re proud to present a reggaetón song composed for one of the most important figures in 2010: Paul The Octopus...What an unforgettable year!
