Everyone from Montreal is supernice, even the local politicians, but Scott Monteith is just that bit supernicer. Over the twelve years that Montrealist musician Scott Monteith has been crafting crackly worlds of dub under his Deadbeat moniker, he has been featured on labels as diverse as ~scape, Wagon Repair, Echocord, Revolver, Cynosure and more. Now residing in Berlin, he launched his own imprint BLKRTZ. It's a move inspired for the most part by his past experiences with community-minded labels like ~scape. Most recently Monteith has prepared a new live show with long-time collaborator and video artist Lillevan. Glitchy and minimal electronics may be his trade, but he can juggle the reggae roots as well.
