For the better part of the last decade, Karl Injex has been helping to build Atlanta's musical foundation, while expanding it's perceived limitations. His peerless selection and uncompromising approach to programming have earned him several awards on the local scene. Along with partner in crime Tyler Askew, Karl writes the ‘Trans Atlantic Audio’ column for the highly regarded Straight No Chaser magazine. Since 2003 the dynamic duo has been running their Rude Movements nights at NYC’s APT and welcomed heavyweights like Sa-Ra, Pete Rock, Theo Parrish, Benji B or IG Culture. Karl has been spinning records at some serious hotspots such as 'The Room' in Tokyo, 'Lux' in Lisbon or at Jazzanova's 'Kaleidoscope' in Berlin. His production and remix work under the monikers Taurus, Jiva and Tauriva has been released through labels like Giant Step, Clairaudience and Ubiquity. Karl and Tyler recently established their own imprint with the release of a 12" from legendary 90's Hip Hop producer Shawn J. Period, soon to be followed by some wonderful songs by highly talented NY producer Taylor McFerrin. Check his lovely 'Leroytisme' tribute mix, dedicated to Hutson and Burgess. Rude bwoy!
