During the months of the Bicentennial (of Mexico's Independence - 200 years, and Revolution - 100 years), we keep asking ourselves, what is the 'Mexican Being'. Therefor, we find a chance to revisit the classics of our songbook, with a contemporary perspective: From the BiMexicano compilation, we'll play three tracks, coming from Jaguares, Colombia's Aterciopelados and Sr. Flavio (from Argentina's Los Fabulosos Cadillacs). Apart from national identity debates, we step on Iberoamerica to listen to an eccentric track from Spain's Single (actually, a duo). PanameriKa portraits Spanish songwriter Luis Eduardo Aute and follows on with a feature on Barcelona's electropoppers, The Pinker Tones. Also, the latest from Mexico's Indie scene: Los Negretes, 60 Tigres and Marlento. And to close things up, there is a track from Algodon Egipcio (the new project from Checky, part of Venezuelan duo Jovenes y Sexys). Quite an international show. So, on the meantime, for Mexico, while celebrating, it is also a moment to meditate... "to be or not to bean".
