Joker has come a long way in a short time, from sending tracks to Plastician on MSN from his Bristol bedroom to traveling the world on the back of a string of tracks that have taken dubstep up, forwards and sideways. Starting off his career as a releasing artist with the impeccable five punch knock out of 'Gully Brook Lane', 'Holly Brook Park', 'Play Doe', 'Snake Eater' and the Kapsize EP, he has quickly put himself on the map with a sound that relies as heavily on soulful melodies as it does on mid-heavy bass drops and hard hitting drums. Fellows like Pinch or Kode9 were quick to realize his talents, leading to releases on Hyperdub and the creation of his own Tectonic-affiliated Kapsize label. Later dancefloor anthems Digidesign, Purple City and Tron have taken him further into the limelight, his love for noise-drenched synths making him one of the few dubstep artists whose sound actually translates to the stages of summer festivals around the world. This set sees him stepping up the game at Notting Hill Carnival 2010.
