In the old track versus song dichotomy, Ada has kept her feet firmly on both sides of the divide ever since she dropped her first release, Anonyme Hospitessen, on Areal in 2002. No matter how far she stretches her tracks, there will always be traces of her love for pop music and melodic complexity. At the same time she has a finely tuned ear for sounds that are as moving as a well written chorus. When she released her first full length, Blondie, in 2004, all this enabled her to include a cover of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs' track Maps without missing a beat. While sharing some of the sound aesthetics associated with her hometown of Cologne, she's always remained close to the Hamburg crowd around International Pony while rising international fame led to a busy touring schedule. She continues to release tracks that are timeless additions to any DJ bag or lush soundtracks for a night in the comfy chair. No chance for the latter, though, with this set from Nachtdigital 2010.
