Destructo, aka Gary Richards, is the man behind the series of events under the Hard label that have been spreading across the United States, bringing with them a host of electronic music artists. He started out on the west coast, keeping busy with map point and warehouse parties that helped shape the local underground. From there on he went on to work with Rick Rubin as an A&R in electronic music, after a while also doing some management work in heavy metal and founding Nitrus Records. After all that, the creation of Hard was a return to his roots of running parties. While running a nationwide series of festivities would be a full time job for most, especially when you add label work and some management duties for Crookers, Destructo always makes time to get back to the roots of his passion - which is why we have a DJ set straight from Hard Fest, NYC right here on the player.
