If you've ever been into house music, you will at some point have stumbled across the pounding polyrhythms of Osunlade's Afro-Cuban riddims in the deep house rack at your local record store. With family roots in St. Louis and Chicago, he was surrounded by jazz, blues and soul culture from an early age, but it was when he moved to L.A. that the production side got serious. Cold blooded music biz led to spiritual emancipation, when the religion of Ifa discovered him. After two years Osunlade returned to music in New York, with new found direction and a spiritual balance. Yoruba Records was the result - and the label quickly found a foothold in the international club circuit, gaining fans from Cape Town to Puerto Rico to Paris, and back again. This mix was recorded at Club Contour in Seattle.
