Metropolis, Orifice Vulgatron, Dag Nabbit, Shlomo and DJ Nonames have been playing in a league of their own ever since they donned the Foreign Beggars name in 2002. Too close in mindset to American undergound hip hop to roll with the grime scene, too all around British in stylistic variety to be embraced by chin stroking backpackers, their success is based on rowdy live sets that are spiced with anything from metal riffs to dubstep wobblers and mind bending free styles. With roots from classical training to drum'n'bass parties, metal bands in Dubai to straight up turntablism, the 'Beggars have collaborated with heavyweights like OhNo, Guilty Simpson, The Scratch Perverts, Vadim, Vex'd or Noisia since releasing first single 'Where Did The Sun Go' in 2003. Meanwhile, parts of the crew guested on Bjork and Gorillaz tracks and by the time their third album 'The United Colours of Beggattron' hit the shelves, these colours were varied enough to make a rainbow blush. This set at Splash! 2010 saw the extended gang in multilingual party mode. And when Foreign Beggars call for a moshpit, you best believe there'll be a moshpit.
