Boot Camp Clik

Duck Down, New York City

Ask any real hip hop fan out there: Boot Camp Clik was, and still is to this day, the epitome of that raw East coast hardcore sound. Comprised of Brooklyn bredrin Buckshot, Sean Price, Tha Rockness Monstah, Tek, Steele, as well as Starang Wondah, Top Dog and Louieville Sluggah of O.G.C. (Originoo Gunn Clappaz), the crew has been delivering raunchy boom bap beats and razor-sharp battle rhymes for almost twenty years. From 1992 to 1996, the Clik spawned no less than three classic albums - Black Moon's Enta Da Stage, Smif-N-Wessun's Dah Shinin', and Heltah Skeltah's Nocturnal - and brought to prominence some of the fiercest rhymesmiths to ever touch a mic. Buckshot and business partner Dru Ha founded Duck Down Records in 1995, signed a high-profile distribution deal with Priority Records, and the family had their own outlet: providing a valuable role model for many an indie movement to come. After a couple of lukewarmly received releases around the turn of the century, the Clik stroke back with a vengeance in 2005, propelled by the ever-hungry Sean P and a slew of albums from all core artists within the crew, which was marketed as a 'Triple Threat'. Since then, Boot Camp Clik have found their way into the hearts of a whole new generation of hip hop fiends, teaming up with some of today's true school heroes such as 9th Wonder and Black Milk, delivering new material to the blog world on an almost daily basis, and always failing to disappoint with their energetic live shows all around the globe. This show sees them rocking Germany's Splash! festival with an ever-entertaining selection of classics from I Sound Bwoy Bureill to Mic Tyson. Who got da props? Y'already know.
