Tiga has been turning Montreal's night life upside down since the 90's, throwing raves and after parties and making vital musical events happen. His record store DNA Records introduced some of the most essential dance records from the US and Europe, while nurturing the local scenes of DJs and producers and putting Montreal on the global electronic music map. His label Turbo Records was built on the success of his international mix sessions series, and since then has grown to link with artists such as Chromeo, DMX Krew, The Hacker, Phillipe Zdar, Fever Ray, and many others. His own LP Sexor, which also featured production from the Soulwax brothers, received acclaim for it's mix of hooky synths and electronic songwriting, and set the stage for a raft of remixes for the likes of the Scissor Sisters and Felix da Housecat. His second album Ciao, sees him working with LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy and Gonzales, and injecting the energy of punky craftsmanship into the electronic soundscape. Here we catch him bringing his latest works to the crowd at Melt! Festival: time for a turbo boost!
