Swedish pop-star Robyn Carlsson has led a life of musical fame in her home country since the tender age of sixteen. From early on, Robyn showed musical gift and lyrical ability to add gravitas to her youthful fame. Robyn had her first international break in the U.S. at the age of nineteen with swooning dance-pop singles 'Show Me Love' and 'Do You Know (What It Takes)'. Two albums later and Robyn was honing her own unique brand of electro-pop, sounding refreshingly unlike her pop peers. Unhappy with the constraints from her major record label, she decided to leave the conveyor belt and began her own label, Konichiwa Records. The first release on this, Robyn!, defined a sound of creative liberation. It included collaborations with avant-garde techno duo The Knife and zoomed straight to number one in Sweden. Joining up with Kleerup, Robyn released the seminal dancefloor killer 'With Every Heartbeat' in 2007, which has since become one of the anthems of the decade. She has also supported her idol, Madonna, and worked with Royksopp and Mr Snoop Dogg. Here's a female pop star who does things her own way.
