On The Floor! - Live at Fabric, London

Jacques Renault & Prince Language

DFA, New York City

Please meet two of NYC's two premiere league indie disco and major house boys. Jacques Renault was a post-punk Washington, D.C. native who moved to Chicago in 1997 to continue his studies of viola, but in turn got an education in dance music. Tapping into the well-established drum 'n' bass scene, he held a residency at Smart Bar and became a buyer at the legendary Gramaphone Records. This broad, raw exposure to house lead him straight back to the classics of disco and to its heart, New York City, where he landed in 2002. That's also the place where Prince Language ended up. Born and raised in Chicago, his diverse musical sensibility and mixing style are strongly influenced by that city's rich musical tradition. Moving to New York in 1999, he soon met Philadelphia DJ Rich Medina, and together the pair established the now-legendary Stoned Soul parties. From there he played at every decent venue in the city, toured the world and made himself a name as editor deluxe and top notch remixer. That's where Prince and Jacques Renault, who is known for his work with the Runaway project, meet. Closely affiliated with the fine people from DFA and both remixers for LCD Soundsystem, the NYC boys shared the decks with great effects at London's Fabric.
