On The Floor! - Live at La Bellevilloise - Pt 1

Bilal

Plug Research, New York

Whatever Bilal has, we want some. The effortless vocal style and technique, the laid back soul, the heartfelt lyrics, and his unerring flow around whichever track is backing him up... these are the qualities of a natural-born singer, who knows that the voice he's been blessed with has to be channelled into positivity. With his debut album 1st Born Second back in 2001, he set himself apart from the also-rans, and the initial neo-soul comparisons to D'Angelo or Prince fell by the way-side as Bilal proved that he was his own musical being. A long-serving Soulquarian, he's just the perfect companion to have in the studio, as countless artists will testify, like Common, Erykah Badu, J Dilla, Talib Kweli, Robert Glasper, Sa-Ra, The Game, Ghostface, Clipse, Pharell, Jay-Z, Beyonce and many others. Showing supreme character after run-ins with the fickle music industry about his second LP Love For Sale, Bilal is back writing new music and now signed to the LA independent Plug Research. Bilal is a example of a man who is always looking to better days, and the only way is up. Here we catch the man in the middle of taking his live show across Europe, mixing up jazz, soul, hip hop, rock, and gospel live at La Bellevilloise in Paris. Wealthy as a Bilalionaire!
