Catalonian electro-darlings The Pinker Tones are back, with an album called Modular... Remember that ex Pulp singer Jarvis Cocker played a horsey tune on his BBC 6 Radio show? Well, it was 'Caballos Y Ponis' by Barcelona's Hidrogenesse. There's some Chilean electronica, by RH+ and Tomas Preuss; while Venezuela is represented by Ulises Hadjis and Jovenes y Sexies; the later ones remix Mexican cutesy Natalia Lafourcade. Apart from the electronica realms, this PanameriKa offers new material by cross-cultural Mexican ska band Los de Abajo, some funk by Guadalajara's Troker, and, to laugh our sombreros out, on our classic tune section, we'll play 'Chulas Fronteras' by El Piporro, a satire about the U.S. - Mexican border relations.
