This is a tapatio house: That means, the family comes from the state of Jalisco, Mexico. PanameriKa travels to the capital city of Guadalajara: one of the most cosmopolitan in the country, to review its music scene from the perspective of four of its most active creative-grounds. No soccer here from the traditional red-striped Chivas, nor mariachis, big hatted singing horsemen (charros), chilli-sunken baguettes (tortas ahogadas) or tequila. Take away those stereotype lenses and jump on this band wagon that goes from the 9 Corners, to a Happy Garlic, on to the 3rd Floor. The city also known as The Pearl of the West (Perla de Occidente) for its beauty (and that of its women) has given fruit to an avant-garde movement filled with complex and experimental, violent and daring projects. On this show, researched by PanamriKa's collaborator Claudia Jimenez, you'll listen to still-to-come tracks from Marlento, Movus and Bacter; Math-rock from Drag+On, state of the art electronica from Lumenlab from the Abolipop label and new signings on the 3er Piso imprint. There's also songs from the 9 Corners Vol.2 compilation on the label of the same name, and the Primavera 2010 collection from the Happy Garlic guild. Que lindo es Jalisco, palabra de honor!
