During his early years as a teenager Thomas Wendel aka Don Williams developed a profound interest in electronic music. In 1999 Don co-founded the techno label Tokomak whose releases were picked up by DJs such as Juan Atkins, Mark Broom and many others. While building the label Don honed his DJing skills, holding various residencies in the local club scene of his hometown of Wittenberg in Germany. By 2005 he had also founded the deep house label Mojuba Records. Not content with two record labels, he then started A.R.T.less Records, a sub label of Mojuba, focusing on 'classic Detroit techno soul'. On this label Don released his 'Detroit Black' EP, as well as singles for artists such as Sven Weisemann and Marko Furstenberg. The third sub label of Mojuba Records was set up in 2008, entitled Wandering, named for its broader musical scope. Since 'Detroit Black' Don has released the 'Detroit Red' and 'Detroit Blue' EP's, also on the A.R.T.less label. Although he now DJs all over the world, the local club scene in Berlin is very important to him, and he regularly DJs at Berghain/Panorama Bar, as well as promoting his own parties across the city.
