Gene and Terrence Thornton aka Malice and Pusha T formed the hip hop duo Clipse back in 1992, and are a testament to the fact that belief, talent, and hard work will get you to the right spot. The right spot in this case was linking with Pharrell WIlliams, who laced them with Neptunes beats, and a prolific studio partnership developed. After some industry ups and downs, the newly-formed Star Trak Entertainment gave them the outlet they needed for their debut LP Lord Willin'. Spawning club classics like Grindin' and When The Last Time, the duo rode a wave of acclaim and commercial success. They even got to leave their footprints on the mainstream with a guest verse on another Neptunes production, Justin Timberlake's Like I Love You. Clipse followed up with their critically acclaimed second LP Hell Hath No Fury, and in the process formed the Re Up Gang with Philly rappers Ab-Liva and Sandman. A Re Up Gang studio LP, several classic mixtapes and the third Clipse LP have seen the pair working harder than ever, and their sound has been branching out. Their latest full-length effort, Til The Casket Drops, boasts production from mixing-desk teams like the Hitmen and DJ Khalil as well as The Neptunes, and found the brothers on as fine lyrical form as ever. It seems like the two VA brothers will double their output with a solo LP each in the near future - but they've teamed up to devastate the mic together for this show recorded live at Elysee Montmartre in Paris. Total clipse of the heart.
