Born in Miami and raised in Hong Kong and back in Miami, Anna-Catherine Hartley had already seen quite a bit of the world when she moved to Paris aged fifteen. There things swiftly fell into place, with her dropping out of fashion school when Ed Banger offered her a deal following the underground success of her single 'Pop The Glock', produced with Mr Oizo cohort Feadz. Since then she has collaborated with Mr Oizo, Justice, Crystal Castles, Mirwais and Pharell (to name just a few), proving that her instant pop star appeal and outgoing personality caught the imagination of producers around the world. In fact her popularity rose so quickly that it proved difficult to finish her debut album amidst all this, with Ed Banger gradually pushing the release date from 2006 to 2010, by which time her style and oddball vocal delivery had been copied by people all over the world. However, her wide ranging musical tastes, as shown by these Headphone Highlights, give her depth that keeps her two steps ahead of the competition.
