Formed in West Palm Beach, Florida, and proceeding to record their debut album at their college dorm room soon after, the most surf thing about Surfer Blood is the twang of some of their guitar lines. Apart from that, they are like the history of indie rock re-imagined and thrown in the blender by a bunch of kids from Florida, where twisted slackers like Pavement or Thinking Fellers Union Local 282 get paired up with anthemic vocals that take in everything from Weezer to Morrissey while scratchy Fugazi-like riffs get drowned out in reverb or turned upside down with a smile. Live at Primavera 2010!
