Filthy Dukes started off life, when club promoters Olly Dixon and Tim Lawton started DJing in support of main acts at their own 'Kill Em All' nights at London's Fabric, which featured legends such as Bloc Party, Late Of The Pier, Chemical Brothers and Simian Mobile Disco. A flirtation with the decks soon became a more serious relationship when they started remixing the likes of Rakes, Maccabees and aforementioned Bloc Party and then a full grown marriage made in synth heaven when they were convinced to write their own original material. Producer Mark Ralph made the team a menage a trois and unto them a flurry of tracks were born, including the first single 'Tupac Robot Club Rock' from their debut long player: 'Nonsense in the Dark', which resembled the forces of Tangerine Dream, Hot Chip and Soulwax, with a bit of krautrock thrown in. Get a glimpse into the filthy minds of the Dukes in their Headphone Highlights.
