How come you tell me our thing is over / that you can't stand this for one more day / that you're tired of soccer / that my love for the shirt became a religion / that you're jealous for the TV / I understand you well / Just hold on a second / you'll see, by half-time / we may seek a way to solve it - "Como la vida sin futbol" (As life without soccer) - Los Tigres del Norte. Is there life beyond soccer? In PanameriKa, we're sure there is not. Anyways, we rescued some intellectual odes by Gepe, Kevin Johansen and the anthropo-musicological efforts by Gilles Peterson, who travels to Havana, Cuba, and returns with an amazing record. Amparo Sanchez (ex Amparanoia) also made the trip to the island, where she recorded with Omara Portuondo, from the Buena Vista Social Club, among other Cuban talents. We also show some new raps from Spain's Frank T, and a very sticky tropical fidget house by Medellin, Colombia's Isa GT, who made it to the UK via a Crookers remix. Oh yeah! Almost forgot: There's three more soccer tunes, just in case we need some foot-balls on the air. (Picture: 'Futbol llanero', by armis_geografico.)
