The serial chiller and eclecticist Si Bonobo can certainly get down with the king of the swingers - albums and albums of lush and deep instrumentation, and Bonobo has carved himself out a reputation for being several steps ahead of the evolutionary chain. Moving from sampled chops to a full live band (with guest appearances from a certain Andreya Triana) Bonobo is constantly mixing up his styles while keeping the emotional core bananas. Through the years he has developed a style that escapes the tags thrown at him earlier on, carving out his own niche, where soulful torchers and haunting soundscapes go hand in hand. Accordingly his live act has turned into a force to behold, as documented by this live recording from Elysee Montmartre, Paris. No slip ups here, and plenty of tunes for dancin' and romancin'.
