Blockbusting purveyors of party vibes, Fried Chicken Soundsystem formed one fine day in 2003 by DDog and Kava. Both had already been an integral part of Wellington, New Zealand's electronic music scene through their groundbreaking work with Bass Frontier, an outfit that kept the local drum''bass scene alive. healthy and kicking throughout the years. The chicken is less about broken beats, though, as DDog, Kava and their partner in grime, Marek, dip their greasy fingers into record bags filled with party hip hop, crunky fidget sounds with all kinds of bassy goodness from around the world thrown in for good measure. While their parties recall the blasting hollertronic vibes of the Bmore-Philly axis, you won't need a club sized sound system to instantly get into a weekend kind of mood with this first part of a three hour set they've prepared for us.
