No lies are allowed on the barrio - the 'hood -: our creed lies on true funk, hip hop, cumbia and tropicalizations. Smooth, rich and eclectic as the feathers on an aztec empress tiara, this PanameriKan offering is lush with sounds: A new track by Mex-Irish Simplifires, Favela uprising with the Frente 3 de Fevereiro, HipHop with Eptos Uno, American-Argentinian ironist Kevin Johansen loosens a James Brown rendition. Mexico's Indie band Dirty Karma, reminds us of some of those good things in the 90s when they chose to cover the Spin Doctors (!). But the great feather on the crown is definitely Afrodita's bastardization on Kraftwerk's "The Model" - a must hear -. This PanameriKa#83 is so representative of the now sound, that it deserves to be hanged on a museum wall, same as Montezuma's feather crown is now kept at the Volkerkundmuseum in Vienna.
