Katy B might be best known for her bubbling late night anthems with the UK funky mafia - but there's no doubt that there's way more to Katie Brien than a nice voice and the right connections. Musically raised by her father's acapella group records, American r 'n' b and London breakbeat alike, Katy walks a tightrope between the old and the new. In early 2009 she was a part of the choir for The Matthew Herbert Big Band at the London Jazz Festival, she regularly performs with live hip hop collective Illersapiens, and she's just wrapped up her debut LP with Rinse FM's crew of producers, slated for release in early 2010. And we didn't even mention steel pan bands and tap dancing, did we?
