Illum Sphere describes his own productions as "dusty, moody, typical 'North of England' future music" - a sound that has made him one of the ten producers to watch in 2010, according to trusted style-spotters FACT. He first caught the attention of the worldwide beats diaspora with his debut EP on Manchester's Fat City Records in early 2009, and has since released a split 7" with Mono/Poly, remixed Dutch heavyweight Martyn, and played shows in L.A. with Dam-Funk and The Gaslamp Killer. On top of that, he hosts his own night Hoya:Hoya in Manchester that has seen guest performances from Kode9, Benji B, Ikonika, Rustie and Harmonic 313 among many others. The expression 'spherical sounds' might get a whole new meaning very soon...
