Sascha Funke's kind of techno sways precariously between the polarity of emotional overload and concrete rationality. With a musical history that spawns from the love of a twelve year old for Euro dance pop and his first musical purchase after the fall of the wall (Technotronic's 'Mega Mix'), to the typical anarchic taste of a teenager, luckily for us and him, Sascha finally found his way into what Berlin's club life made famous (i.e. techno) - thanks to Marusha's radio show and first wave clubs like the infamous Walfisch. Sequently, Funke started out as a DJ in renowned clubs like Discount and SO36, learning the dance floor trade from scratch before developing into a fully-fledged and skilled producer. Sascha calls Ellen Allien's BPitch Control his permanent home, where he puts out forward-thinking albums like 'Mango'. Paying Kompakt a visit from time to time, his music fits Berlin's industrial environment as well as the more romantic approach from Cologne. Take a listen to Sascha's exclusive mix of discofied house and techy disco music for us. No fire without a Funke.
