Hosting Japans very own RBMA show, Shibuya FM is named after one of the world's busiest urban zones, and it doesn't let its name sake down. Covering the multitude of music styles that prevail through Tokyo, on any one day you can hear jazzy eclecticism from original Tokyo pioneers like Toshio Matsuura, Raphael Sebagg, future beats from the Jazzy Sport crew, reggae 45s from Shibu Ragga, deep disco and house music from Lowrider, Flower Records, and Tokyo Clubmix, while the World Famous show covers all the bases, and the downtown b-boys tune into Warp On The Table and MasterMix. The weekly RBMA session sees the freshest local talent rubbing shoulders in the studio with international guests. Special guest this time around is DJ Pinch. He was born in Scotland and lived there until he was six years old when his family moved to Newport in South Wales. At 18 he moved to Bristol and has been there ever since, enjoying the relaxed and bass heavy vibe of the city. After getting recognized around town for mashing minimal, garage, and grime into his DJ sets, Pinch started to incorporate some dubstep plates. But it was the experience of seeing Kode 9 at the monthly night FWD>> in London that really turned his head and from then on it was pure dubstep. In 2005 he founded Tectonic Records with the motto, If your chest aint rattlin, it aint happnin! It is a label that has gone from strength to strength, created its own sound and has received a lot of respect from the dubstep fraternity across the globe.
