This is a PanameriKan show peculiar for its versicular violations to form (but it still works!). Please hear the ingenious reinventions and cannibalizations to songs by Rod Stewart, Portishead, Lou Reed or an immortal standard like 'Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps'. Los Aguakates (The Avokados) from Mexico City present a live cover of 'Glory Box'; Bradeh & Maz Plata represent the same city's rap; we also remember a track by Monterrey's Control Machete, mixing the vintage airs of the danzon rhythm with Hip Hop, while Hong Kong Blood Opera rev up the thing with their razor-sharp punk. Los Esquizitos bring up their new gingery demo flirting with a femme fatal; and now that we've entered the panaZonians region, three portentous women are portraited here: Maluca, Anita Tijoux and Ceu. Albert Pla fills the room with a smoky (and quite unpleasant) version to take a 'Walk on the Wild Side'. PanameriKa also inaugurates the 'Alo PanameriKa' section, where we will invite international music diggers on the phone, to recommend us some astonishing tunes: Here, Felo Arias from Colombia, introduces us to a wild version of Rod Stewart's 'D'Ya Think I'm Sexy?' Are you cansei de ser sexy? Well, try your songs in-a-PanameriKa style-ah.
