Ever wondered how a DJ Koze interpretation of Tom Waits singing in the shower might sound during a FWD dance? Dominic Maker and Kai Campos can show you. Surfacing as Mount Kimbie in 2009 with a couple of blinding dubstep tracks, the duo's distinctive sound catapulted them straight into future garage heaven. Their debut EP was picked up by Scuba's Hotflush label, now a leading force in the genre and home to like-minded dubstep dons and hi-tech house heroes such as Joy Orbison and Untold. However, Mount Kimbie's organic hybrid sound is a different one, with influences of post-rock, dreamy pop and minimal techno as well as dubstep from the likes of Burial and Shackleton. Here's an exclusive set recorded live at the RBMA Session at Manchester's Deaf Institute.
