One of the key figures in crossing the sounds of techno and dubstep, Paul Rose aka Scuba has been shaping the scene as one of the pivotal figures on the triple B axis of Bristol, Berlin and bass - running Hotflush Records in Bristol, running the Sub:stance night at Berlin's Berghain club, and bringing plenty of bass in either case. With Hotflush now having moved to London, we will have to give up on the nice alliteration but, thankfully, none of forward thinking music. Along the way he's finding time to produce some groundshaking tracks and take them to places around the world. And as befits someone who grew up listening to Iron Maiden and Pet Shop Boys (finding their sense of melodies not to be very far apart) his music offers as much to the disenchanted kid listening through headphones on the bus as to disinhibited dancers in front of your local Funktion One woofers. So wherever you are: crank up this typically deep exclusive mix on RBMA radio.
