A close compatriot of Brackles, Shortstuff has been steadily crafting beats for labels like Pollen and Berkane Sol and he's released his own work on several others including Bristol's Punch Drunk (he was the first non-Bristolean to do so, hailing from Hertfordshire). One half of the team behind Blunted Robots, Shortstuff's style is bemusingly melodic. Thickly compressed drums regiment the texture he brings to his sound palette, marrying the driving percussion of house music with the swagger and bass pressure of dubstep to perfection. Here's an exclusive live mix recorded at the launch night for Elevator Music, a Fabric created series that was spawned to introduce the forward thinking dubstep scene and its developing landscape.
