Lhasa de Sela was a wandering gypsy; touching hearts of people anywhere she roamed. She was a nomad, as all creatures from the desert are. Hers was a velourian voice, tremolous and incisive, capable of taming melancholy and bringing light upon it. PanameriKa lowers its flag to half-staff to mourn the death of singer-songstress Lhasa de Sela on January 1st, 2010. Number#73 for Panamerika features a posthumous homage to the artist that was nurtured on Latinamerican soil, lived her life abroad, only to pay back with a legacy of priceless musicality and beauty for our grounds.
