Signore Beppe Loda is one of the pioneers of electronic music and club culture in Italy. Through most of the eighties, Loda was the resident at a now legendary club called Typhoon (Brescia, North Italy) that shares the mystic bill with other celebrated places like Baia degli Angeli or Cosmic. Since his first gig in 1973 at the Kinky club in his hometown Manerbio, Beppe was on the search for unique sounds and songs off the beaten track. Loda developed his own style of playing music, often refered to as "afro", "cosmic" or - when it apparently was carrying both elements - "afro cosmic". The music he played and still plays is as mesmerizing now as it was then. You'll find new wave, electronic prog rock, new wave, afro beat, krautrock industrial music and all kinds of things knotted and connected. Loda mixed over two hundred tapes and also tired his skills behind a studio desk with the "Italy Synth" project MC1, which has just seen the light of day again via Synthonic.
