Kevin Martin aka The Bug

Hyperdub, Pathological, UK

Kevin Martin is a producer who has amassed a ridiculous amount of projects over the years creating mind-bending fusions of jazz, dub, hip hop, and experimental industrial noise for over a decade, and is still pushing forward. Since The Bug's first album 'Tapping The Conversation' (an alternative soundtrack to Francis Ford Coppola's masterpiece of paranoid celluloid), his signature sound of raw, belligerent dub found a home on Razor X and Rephlex, and more recently on Hyperdub and Ninja Tune. But The Bug is just one out of many projects that Kevin Martin has worked on, and if you've ever had your wig blown off by King Midas Sound, Techno Animal, Pressure, Ice and God (with Justin Broadrick) or Curse Of The Golden Vampire, then you know Kevin was on the buttons behind the scenes. He's also running his own Pathological record label, collaborated with noise jazz outfit 16-17, Pete "Sonic Boom" Kemper's E.A.R project, Mark Stewart, John Zorn or Anti-Pop Consortium just to name a few. He remixed everyone from Thom Yorke and Grace Jones to Einsturzende Neubauten and Primal Scream, so you know The Bug's pedigree second-to-none. Welcome to the bug's life.
