Hosting Japans very own RBMA show, Shibuya FM is named after one of the world's busiest urban zones, and it doesn't let its name sake down. Covering the multitude of music styles that prevail through Tokyo, on any one day you can hear jazzy eclecticism from original Tokyo pioneers like Toshio Matsuura, Raphael Sebagg, future beats from the Jazzy Sport crew, reggae 45s from Shibu Ragga, deep disco and house music from Lowrider, Flower Records, and Tokyo Clubmix, while the World Famous show covers all the bases, and the downtown b-boys tune into Warp On The Table and MasterMix. The weekly RBMA session sees the freshest local talent rubbing shoulders in the studio with international guests. Special guests this time around is Akiko Kiyama who has hot-footed it from Tokyo to Berlin via London, sharpening her shuffling minimal Techno style along the way. Her twisting, turning, sinister tracks are packed with tiny details and are made to surprise on every listen. Having studied classical music, Akiko first fell for Drum'n'Bass and started making her own laptop tracks. In just a few years she was bitten by the Techno bug (it's similar to a bed bug, but looks like a tiny insect robot) and has released on Sud Electronic, Revolver, Thema and District of Corruption and had a track included on Richie Hawtin's 'DE9 Transitions'. For her visit to our show she brought a bag full of unreleased goodies, so sit back and enjoy!
